Buying and owning a yacht is a big decision. Very often the excitement wears off after the first year or two and a great idea turns into a financial burden.

Buying a yacht and placing it into charter service negates most of all the negatives of yacht ownership:

• Charter income covers maintenance costs.
• Your yacht is not costing money each month, it actually earns you money.
• You get full dock-side and on the water service.

The owner can book the boat at any time in advance as long as there is not already a confirmed charter booking.

When the owner arrives at the base the yacht is prepared, cleaned, has ice on board as well as fresh linens and towels. All the owner needs to do is bring along the sunscreen and eager guests.

Once the timeout is completed, the boat is returned to the base, we take care of all the cleaning and maintenance to keep the yacht in premium condition.

How charter ownership works

It is really pretty simple, the owner agrees to purchase an Island Spirit yacht through our charter service.

Island Spirit, being an authorized dealer, offers the boat for sale at a discounted rate and forgoes any dealer margin in exchange for a 5-year yacht management agreement.

The yacht is marketed for bareboat charter under the yacht management agreement and Island Spirit takes care of the marketing, management, mooring and maintenance of the yacht with the income earned to split between Island Spirit and the owner.

This then provides the owner with a full-service program and a great annual return.
